This week I look at a diabetes medicine craze for weight loss that has swept across America over the last year. The drug was developed from Ozempic, a diabetes medicine under an off brand name of Wegovy which has a higher dose of Semaglutide found in ozempic.
A-list celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Kelly Clarkson among others have admitted to taking this medication to aid in their weight loss.
Once people started using this version of Ozempic through wegoby they saw quick and effective results in weight loss – it exploded in popularity through TikTok and TV as people ran to their doctors seeking the off brand drug.
This unfortunately created a shortage for people who use the medication for diabetes and not just for weight loss putting them at risk.
