We make a retro-player inspired by Atomic Heart

Our team was formed after acquaintance on the official Atomic Heart diskord server in January 22, we were big fans of the game. Initially, we gathered three – Gaminzhinner, 3D modeller and composer. They wanted to quickly make a shooter similar to Atomic Heart, but then the game “overgrown with meat” and became more independent. Subsequently, the team also grew up, two people are still making the game itself, but we gathered many talented musicians, artists, animators and voice actors.

About the game

The action of HMUR takes place in the city of Mirnogorsk, located on the outskirts of Siberia.
Mirnogorsk is the most advanced city of the Soviet Union, thanks to the high -tech complexes located on its territory, which every Soviet citizen dreams of working on which every Soviet citizen dreams. However, all this risks collapsing, since at all complexes there was an unforeseen failure, which the main character is to deal with due to circumstances.

An unforeseen failure at Mirnogorsk enterprises found you by surprise, your seemingly ordinary task of examining the territory grew into something more and acquired a curious character.

In all these circumstances, a large arsenal of weapons will be available to you, in which there will be a place for both a freezing projectile and a NKVD saber. Nothing will prevent you from completing the task.

Inexplicable and strange events take place in the complexes. What is the reason for such strange phenomena – this is a question that requires an answer.

About inspiration with an atomic and development

We really liked the idea of ​​creating a shooter about the alternative USSR in the scenery of high-tech complexes, with this simple concept we began to work, even without any design document.

The first versions of the game were crooked, uninteresting and generally ordinary. Understanding this, the 3D model was proposed to turn the game into a retro-player, since he is a big fan of this genre. The idea to make a retro-player gave great scope for imagination and, what a sin to hide, markedly simplified the task.
From this moment, active development began, we began to collect the game from scratch.

Since we are fans of the atomics since ancient times, starting from 18th year, inspiration was in the first place from later versions of the game, when the environment was not so brightly futuristic. The setting of our game is much more mundane.

Stylish retro-futuristic environment in the atomics also very catchy of us, I wanted to recreate similar scenery in our game, but it was a very difficult task for one person.
When we began the development of retro-player, thoughts about bright retro-fluorism instantly disappeared, since now in the foreground was the creation of dynamic shootings.

For clarity, you can familiarize yourself with the merged gameplay of the atomic of the 17th year, gameplay and stylistically our game is very similar to this version of Atomic Heart.

We plan to go out in the 24th year, but at what sites is difficult to say. Now in Russia problems with the publication of the game in Steam, but are trying to find a solution.
